Ole Joshua Sharf at View From A Height, one of them blogs 'ssoshiated with The Rocky Mountain Alliance of Bloggers, is on a trip thru Arizona. He's been postin' sum nice pitures of th' desert 'n such. Here's one such entry, showin' Saguaros and cotton pickers. Ole Josh sez-iss 'bout it: "In the meantime, pictures of the Saguaros, along with evidence that Ron Paul was wrong."
Took me a minut 'r two t-figgur out wut he mint, and thin it finally came t-me: see, we don't need no slaves to pick cotton. We cuda jus' invented the cotton picker and set the slaves free. But since the Confed'rates din't want no cotton pickin' cotton pickers, Honest Abe had to go down-ere 'n whup 'em. That stupid Ron Paul.
Not fo' Mr. Sharf, I gis, is th' fact that slavery wuz already on the way out due to both external and internal pressures, not to menshun the fact that the very teknology he shows in his piture wuz on the way in. No mattuh: better 600,000 dead and a trashed fedrul constitution thin lettin' slavery die the naturl death it wud in another 50 years.
That stupid ole Ron Paul.
Recent thangs on-iss here and here.
S. Jones
P.S. I tried to post a commint to Old Josh's blog entry, but it ain't takin' fo' some reason. Tek problems, or he's turned his comments off, or sumpin' like-att, I 'spose.
