This here 19th-century image is one of "Honest Abe" Lincoln as th' "Federal Phoenix" arisin' from th' ashes of th' US Constitution, Commerce, Credit, Habeas Corpus, States Rights and a Free Press, all named in th' burnin' logs below him. Most of "Honest Abe's" modern emulators are historic'ly ignurnt 'n tharfore don't realize wut opposition thar wuz to him back in th' day, not ohnly in th' Confederate states, but in th' North too. Th' man wuz a cad 'n a despot, but later generashuns of Americans wud become hornswaggled by th' orficial National Myth and Piety, gittin' all patriotic feelin' when th' Battle Hymn of th' Republic Empire is played 'n whin they gaze upohn his Zeus-like image in-att temple thar at Rome ohn th' Potomac. 'N now we got the Lincoln Bicentennial comin' upohn us from th' storage bin of th' grapes of wrath, with all sorts of silly celebratin' 'n honorin' t' be done by both libruls 'n so-called conservatives alike(which is fittin' since it's both th' Evil Party and th' Stupid Party which are the ideological heirs of Lincoln). Well, as cud be expected, ol' Jones is one-a many-a paleocon who'll be observin' this here bicentennial by flyin' Confed'rate flags and tellin' th' truth t' Americans 'bout who ol' Abe really wuz. St. Abe: The Leftist Cunnection

Some ole boys have a-writtin' that Lincoln was inspared by the soshalist movements of his day. Al Benson and Walter D. Kennedy are two o' such. (Ye kin take a gander at they new book here. ) Indeed, it's also well known that a numbah of Germans who wuz involved in the (socialist) 1848 Revolution came to America aftah the failur' of that revolution and aided the Yankees. Fo' instunce, some o' these boys served at the Battle of Elkhorn Tavern ("Pea Ridge" to the Yankees) unduh the radical Brig. General Franz Sigel. Latuh, they formed the first socialist party in these here United States.

Now, I know some o' y'all will be tempted to write off this ole comparision as jus' more "neo-Confederate" nonsense. "Lincoln comparable to the socialists!? Why those Kennedy and Benson boys r' just drinkin' too much Jack!"

Interstin', tho', that Fidel Castro has jus' made the same connection. He likens Lincoln to Che Guevara. Ain't no wonder that so miny call the neocons, who take Lincoln as they principul hero, "Jacobins". Employin' the principul of "creative destruction" they wanna break it down, make the world 'merica, even if they gotta burn and pillage they way to the sea to do it. The world really duz await our revolution. Really it do. Not only shall it "not perish from the earth", it will subdue it.
